Woman Stabbed While Jogging in South Suburban Park

A 26-year-old woman was cut on her legs and torso, Bridgeview police said. The suspect is on the loose.

Bridgeview police are looking for a man they say stabbed a woman while she was jogging through a park Tuesday night.

The attack happened around 9 p.m. at Founders Park, 8200 S. 78th Avenue in Bridgeview. The 26-year-old woman was cut on her legs and upper torso, police said.

The assailant approached the woman from behind and grabbed her, tearing her clothing and stabbing her, police said. A search by K9 units and Cook County Sheriff helicopter did not locate a suspect.

The woman was taken to Advocate Christ Hospital, where she is recovering from non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a man about 40 years old, approximately 5-foot-3, with a stocky build, gray beard and hairy arms. Anyone with information is asked to contact Bridgeview Police at 708-458-2131.
