Workshop Helps Residents Protect Themselves From Fraud and ID Theft

PALOS HEIGHTS, IL — Learn about the latest scams at a fraud workshop at 4 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 22, at the Palos Heights Recreation Center, 1601 W. 127th St.

Staff from the Illinois Comptroller’s officer will present an overview of common scams and frauds going around the internet, social media and phone. Residents will learn how to protect themselves from identify theft. There will also be time for questions and answers.

The fraud workshop is sponsored by Sen. Bill Cunningham, Rep. Fran Hurley and Mayor Bob Straz.
