Wrong Way Driver Charged With Reckless Homicide, DUI
A Bridgeview man is charged with causing a multi-vehicle pile up that left a man dead, and three others injured.

PALOS HILLS, IL — A Bridgeview man is accused of driving in the wrong lane when he caused a multi-vehicle accident early Sunday morning in Palos Hills. A man died in the crash, and three others were injured, two critically.
Daniel Swan, 32, has been charged with reckless homicide, aggravated DUI causing great bodily harm, DUI, driving in the wong lane and failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash.
Around 12:20 a.m. Sunday, Palos Hills police and the North Palos Fire Protection District responded to a multi-vehicle crash at 109th Street and Southwest Highway. A 42-year-old man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he later died of his injuries.

Two women were also injured and remain in critical condition at Christ Medical Center. Another man was treated and released.
Police said the driver, later identified as Swan, fled the scene on foot. He was taken into custody near the accident scene and was also transported to Christ Medical Center.

The Suburban Major Accident Reconstruction Team (SMART) assisted Palos Hills police in the investigation.
Cook County Judge Linzie Jones set bail at $80,000. Swan is not allowed to drive while his case is pending. He is currently being held in custody at a hospital. Swan is due back in court Aug. 11 in Bridgeview.
