Laurie Russell, a docent at Cantigny - the former home of Robert R. McCormick, will talk about
the history of the fascinating female journalists who worked for
the Chicago Tribune. They were the
first to report from battlefields, covered sensational crimes, worked behind
the scenes in Nazi Germany and more.
She will also
trace the influential and groundbreaking role of Robert R. McCormick in the
development of women reporters, columnists and editors.
The lecture
is illustrated with historic and vintage photographs as well as Tribune pages
from the past.
