• Rabid bat confirmed in Chicago's northwest suburb (wgntv.com) — A bat found near the 1100 block of South Rose Avenue in Park Ridge has tested positive for rabies, prompting a warning from city and county health officials. Residents are urged not to handle bats or other wild animals, to call a doctor if they may have been exposed, and to ensure pets are up to date on rabies vaccinations.    

• Still No Charges In Glenbrook South Sophomore's Shooting Death (journal-topics.com) — A Glenbrook South High School sophomore who was fatally shot in late March was pronounced dead at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, but more than a month later no one has been charged. Cook County authorities say the case remains under active investigation, while the victim’s mother publicly questions why prosecutors have not filed charges despite identifying a person of interest.
