Attorney General Lisa Madigan Speaks at The Summit

IRS scams, senior fraud, and identity theft were discussed by Ill. Attorney General Lisa Madigan before a group of civic leaders.

Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan told a crowd of nearly 100 about the latest scams and fraud being committed in Illinois and, for the most part, across the United States. These included scams where those looking to obtain money or personal information pretend to be from the IRS or charities. She spoke at the monthly luncheon of the local Rotary Club at The Summit of Uptown in Park Ridge.


In addition, she told the group of nearly 100 consisting of members of the Park Ridge Rotary Club, noon Kiwanis Club, law enforcement and civic leaders about how to protect their personal and credit information.Her #1 tip was to have transaction alerts put on your credit cards. With this a person gets an email every time the card is used. She also urged everyone to regularly check their credit reports and credit card statements.

Madigan encouraged the public to contact her office with any concerns or problems. She pledged her staff is always willing to try and help.
