District 64 School Board Candidate Filing Deadline Changed to December 26

December 26 is New Filing Deadline for District 64 School Board Candidates

On December 3, Gov. Pat Quinn signed SB3338 that revised the deadline for candidates running for school board to file their nominating petitions.ย  Park Ridige-Niles School District 64 therefore also changed its deadline to December 26; previously the date for the deadline for filing the petitions had been December 24.ย  Based on the Governor's action, the District 64 office will now be closed on December 24, 2012 as well as December 25.

  • The revised period for filing nominating papers with the Board secretary runs from December 17 through December 21, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, and on Wednesday, December 26 from 8 a.m. to no later than 5:00 p.m.ย  Nominating papers may not be submitted outside these dates and times.
  • Candidates' names will appear on the election ballot in the order in which their nominating papers are received at the District 64 office.ย  In the event of simultaneous submission, a lottery has been scheduled for Tuesday, December 18 at noon; candidates need not be present.
  • The revised period for filing objections to nomination papers is:ย  December 27, 28, 31, 2012 and January 2, 2013 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and January 3, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the District 64 office.
  • The final day to file a withdrawal of candidacy form for candidates that decide not to run is January 31, 2013, also at the District 64 ESC.
