Community groups deck the halls at Summit of Uptown

Using the theme Christmas Carols, 14 groups brought the spirit of the season to the senior living community in Park Ridge.

As he hangs a shining star on the highest bough he can reach, a Cub Scout from Queen of All Saints Pack 3942 on Chicago’s Northwest Side puts the finishing touches on the group’s Little Drummer Boy themed tree.

Community groups decked the halls at Summit of Up using the theme Christmas Carols with their own special touch on Christmas trees that brought the spirit of the season to the senior living community in Park Ridge. Fourteen groups participated in the annual event this year.

“Long a hub of community life for all ages, we are pleased that these groups have come to help us celebrate the season. Decorating which began December 1 will continue throughout the month. After residents vote on their favorite tree, the winning organization will celebrate with a pizza party courtesy of Summit of Uptown.

Participating organizations include Field School Girl Scout Troop 45180, 5th Grade, 12 Days of Christmas; Carpenter School Girl Scout Troop 40454,5th Grade, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer; Carpenter School Kindergarteners Girl Scout Daisy Troop 45691, Frosty the Snowman; Washington School Girl Scout Troop 222, 4th Grade, Let It Snow.

Also Wilderness Princesses Huron Tribe, 5th 6th 7th Grade, Jingle Bells/Jingle Bell Rock; Wilderness Apaches Tribe, 2nd through 6th Grade, Santa Claus Is Coming to Town; Wilderness Cherokee Tribe, Joy to the World; Carpenter School Brownies Troop 1446, 4th Grade, White Christmas.

Also St Monica School K through 8 Girl Scouts, Hark the Herald Angels Sing; Queen of All Saints Cub Scout Pack 3942, Little Drummer Boy; MOPS South Park Church, We Three Kings of Orient Are; Park Ridge Park District Dancers, Blue Christmas; Cumberland School, Deck the Halls; and St. Paul of the Cross, 4th Grade, O Christmas Tree.
