Community Organizations Start Christmas Season with Tree Decorating Contest at The Summit of Uptown
From students to first responders, the community is getting into the holiday spirit with a tree decorating contest at The Summit. Come vote!

Over two dozen community organizations deck the halls at The Summit of Uptown
People from the community of all ages will help deck the halls to help ready The Summit of Uptown to celebrate the holidays with the Festival of Community Christmas Trees. Tree trimming will begin the first week of December and must be completed by Sunday, Dec. 13. After the trees are decorated, community members may vote for their favorite tree any time they visit by bringing a non-perishable food item for the Maine Township Emergency Food Pantry. Prizes will be awarded to the winning organizations.
The array of trees will be decorated by the following area schools and organizations. Children’s groups include St. Raymond Webelos Cub Scout Pack 55, St. Paul of the Cross Girl Scout Troop 40651, Queen of All Saints Cub Scout Pack 3942, Mary Seat of Wisdom Girl Scout Troop 4167, St. Paul of the Cross 4th Graders, Carpenter School Brownie Troop 41446, St. Monica Brownie Troop, Carpenter School 3rd Graders, St. Mary Family Guild, Cherokee Tribe Park Ridge Indian Scouts, St. Juliana Cub Scout Pack 3965, Montessori, Academy Preschoolers, Emerson School Vocal Power Chorus, Roosevelt School 4th Grade Chorus, St. Paul of the Cross Bear Cub Scout Troop 24, Park Ridge Ascension Dance Troupe, Field School Brownie Troop, Park Ridge Cheer Squad, and Creativo! Academy Preschoolers.
Community groups include the Park Ridge Fire Department, Park Ridge Police Department, Park Ridge Kiwanis-Noon, Park Ridge Rotary, Center of Concern, Park Ridge Centennial Activity Center and Maine Township.

The Festival of Community Christmas Trees is just one example variety of programs and activities open to the community at The Summit of Uptown which has long been a hub of community life. Parking is always available in the Uptown City garage across the street.
