Confusing Street Signs Replaced

There are new street signs in Uptown, which officials hope are less confusing than the signs that were put up at the same spot over the summer.

New street signs that Park Ridge Mayor David Schmidt called confusing for drivers have now been replaced, the Park Ridge Sun-Times reports. The signs were originally installed at the six corner intersection of Touhy Avenue, Prospect Avenue and the Northwest Highway in Uptown over the summer. They had the names of the streets on them, with an arrow pointing to the street.
However, Schmidt said the arrows and the signs were more confusing to people than before there were signs there. Hearing the concerns,  the Illinois Department of Transportation has now replaced those signs with signs that just have the street names on them. Schmidt says the signs are better, but still may be a little confusing for people who don't know the area, the publication reports.
