Dick Pond Athletics Celebrates Grand Opening In Park Ridge

Dick Pond Athletics celebrated the opening of its Park Ridge store with a ribbon cutting ceremony July 28.

Park Ridge Chamber of Commerce board president Theresa Olson (Resurrection Heath Care) cut the red ribbon Dick Pond Athletics Store grand opening.

Located at 29 S. Prospect Avenue, across from the library, Joko Greenberg (store manager) and staff welcomed residents, visitors, and distributor representatives July 28 with catered appetizers by Applauze Catering.

The new store is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Dick Pond, an accomplished high school distance runner and All-American from Western Michigan University founded the store in 1969, a press release from the Park Ridge Chamber of Commerce states. Today there are six retail locations and four travelling shoemobiles as well as a successful mail order business.

Dick Pond Athletics features a huge selection of running shoes, including trainers, racing flats, track and cross country spikes, field event shoes. It also has a selection of track and cross country uniforms, including singlets, shorts, speedsuits, warm-ups, plus a huge line of accessories to outfit your team, the press release states.

Dick Pond Athletics also carries a huge line of Wrestling Products. Wrestlers can find a great selection of earguards, kneepads, shoes and apparel.
