DNA Leads to Warrant in 2011 Robbery

Police say there is a warrant out for the arrest of a suspect in a 2011 robbery at a Park Ridge restaurant. They say DNA left on a hat that suspect wore was matched month.

DNA found on a hat left outside of a Park Ridge restaurant after a robbery in 2011 has led to a warrant arrest for a suspect, the Park Ridge Sun-Times reports. Police say the power went out at the Mac's Restaurant, 812 Higgins Road, on July 18, 2011.
When the suspect came in, he told employees at the restaurant that they owed ComEd $100, and if they paid it, it would come back on. When employees went to get the money from a bag, the suspect allegedly grabbed the bag and ran away. However, police say he left a hat behind outside on the sidewalk. DNA was found on that hat and matched last month, and a warrant was issued for the suspect. No arrest has been made yet.
