The Park Ridge Chamber Retail Committee sponsored Dog Days of Summer for the theme of the First Fridays Park Ridge in August.
Dog rescue agencies and dog related merchants came out to enjoy a lovely evening around the library. Smilin Dawgs sold hot dogs (and more!). The K-9 unit from Rosemont gave a great demo with one of the officers and his German Shepherd, Rigg.
First Fridays events are geared towards residents and visitors coming out to enjoy a community wide event and also to bring foot traffic to the stores.
The next First Friday event is October 4, an OctoberFest that includes a car show, dancers from Lynnette's School of Dance, musicians from Allegro Music Center, face painting by StageCoach Theatre School, and food from Smilin Dawgs and All on the Road Catering. Lisa's Italian Ice will sell popcorn and drinks. Dr Zylo and the Brainiacs will also perform.
