Donors Needed for Rep. Stephens' Blood Drive

Donors Needed for Rep. Stephens' September 29th Blood Drive

Area residents are encouraged to sign-up to donate much needed blood at an upcoming Blood Drive hosted by State Representative Brad Stephens (R-Rosemont)

“Blood donation has taken a serious hit during the pandemic, but the need is still very much there,” Rep. Stephens said. “I hosted a successful blood drive in June and I’m hoping to replicate that success again. I’m asking our neighbors to come together as a community and help me save lives.”

The event will take place on Tuesday, September 29th at the Paula Hassell O’Connor Community Center, 733 N Prospect Ave in Park Ridge, from 12:30-5:30pm.

Donors are required to be in good general health and feeling well, be at least 17-years-old (or 16-years-old with parental consent) and weigh at least 110 lbs. Additional weight requirements apply for donors 18-years-old and younger and all high school donors. Healthy means that you feel well and can perform normal activities. If you have a chronic condition such as diabetes, healthy also means that you are being treated and the condition is under control.

As a safety precaution, donations will be by appointment only (no walk-ins) and face coverings will be required. Blood donors will also be given a free COVID-19 antibody test. To make an appointment, please visit: vitalant.org and enter code: 008F. You can also reach out to Rep. Stephens' office to schedule an appointment.
