Early voting for March primary election begins March 5

Early voting for the March 20 primary election will begin Monday, March 5 and continue through Sunday, March 19, according to Peter Gialamas, Maine Township Clerk. The primary election is a state-level election that will take place March 20 to narrow the field of candidates for the Illinois Gubernatorial Election that will take place Nov. 6.
“Although turnout for primary elections is much lower than in general elections, casting your ballot in a primary election is just as important as voting in a general election,” said Gialamas. “Voting is the easiest and best way to make your voice heard.”
Early voting which continues until March 19 will take place at four locations in Maine Township. They include Park Ridge Centennial Activity Center, 100 S. Western, Park Ridge; Des Plaines Public Library, 1501 Ellinwood, Des Plaines; Niles Village Hall, 1000 Civic Center Drive, Niles; and Glenview Village Hall, 2500 E. Lake, Glenview. Hours are Monday through Friday, March 5 through March 9 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, March 10 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday, March 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Monday through Friday, March 12 through March 16 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday, March 17 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday, March 18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Monday, March 19 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Voters who participate in early voting must vote in person. For other locations and times for early voting, visit www.cookcountyclerk.com/agency/ways-vote. Voters can check their voting eligibility at www.cookcountyclerk.com/Service/Your-Voter-Information where they can verify their voter registration, find their polling place, see sample ballots when they are available, see a list of their elected officials and their contact information and check their mail ballot status.
Maine Township residents who do not have access to a computer, have questions about their voting status or polling place, or need to register to vote should contact the Maine Township Clerk’s Office at 847-297-2510 or visit in person at Maine Township Town Hall, 1700 Ballard Road, Park Ridge.
