Ex-Employee Accused of Sticking Up Park Ridge Chipotle

Juan Duran, 23, was charged Tuesday with armed robbery with a firearm and aggravated kidnapping in connection with the incident.

An ex-employee of a Park Ridge Chipotle is accused of robbing his former workplace at gunpoint earlier this week, according to a Chicago Tribune report.

Juan Duran, 23, of the 6200 block of North Bell Avenue, Chicago, was arrested Monday and charged Tuesday with felony armed robbery with a firearm and felony aggravated kidnapping, the report stated.

Park Ridge police claim Duran, while wearing a mask, walked into the restaurant, 119 S. Northwest Hwy., at about 7:30 a.m. Monday, pulled a gun on the employees and demanded money. Police accuse Duran of taking $4,359 from the restaurant’s safe and then locking the employees in a walk-in cooler, the report stated. The employees were able to escape thanks to the cooler’s safety latch, the report added.

One of the employees was hit in the back of the head with a gun during the robbery, the report stated. He was treated for his injuries at Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, the report added.
