Judge Drops Park Ridge From Civil Rights Lawsuit

A federal judge dropped the city from a civil right lawsuit, but two police officers remain a part of the suit.

A U.S. District Court Judge dismissed the city from a civil rights lawsuit last month, however, two officers with the police department remain a part of the suit, the Park Ridge Sun Times reports.

U.S. District Court Judge James Holderman dismissed the city from the suit, filed by Michael Danilkowicz, 83, who says he was unlawfully evicted from a home. In the suit, he says he was forcibly removed from his sister's home in the 1300 block of Hallberg Lane in February by officers Kevin Ryan and Jodi Broderick. The officers, who remain a part of the suit, say they didn't evict him, but instead he chose to leave after being asked to. The next hearing in the case is September 10.
