Maine South Hawks Parade Celebrates State Football Championship

After a slow start, the Maine South Hawks football team rose from being ranked 26th to being the State Champions. Congrats!

The City of Park Ridge gathered Saturday morning to celebrate with the Maine South Hawks football team. Even with a slow 4-3 start to the season and being ranked 26th, the Hawks plowed through opponents in the latter part of the season to finish with the state 8A championship the week prior.

In the title game, the Hawks beat the previously undefeated Loyola Academy team in stunning fashion by a score of 27 to 17. Loyola was the defending state champions and had an undefeated record spanning several seasons.

This is the sixth state championship for the Maine South Hawks. Congrats to the players, coaches, staff and administration for a wonderful season capped by a fun celebration and parade.
