Maine Township free document shredding draws more than 100

The shredding day gave residents a safe, secure way to fight fraud and identity theft, according to Laura Morask Maine Township Supervisor.

When Maine Township offered its free document shredding day Saturday, June 3, from 9 a.m. to noon in the parking lot of the Maine Township Town Hall, more than a hundred residents brought their sensitive documents for safe disposal. According to Supervisor Laura Morask, proper shredding is one way to fight fraud and combat identity theft.

"We offered this free service to our residents as a safe, secure way to dispose of their sensitive documents properly," said Morask. As an added security measure, residents were able to view shredding as it was done on their materials via a video monitor located on the outside of the truck. Shredding was done by Opportunity Secure Data Destruction Company, a division of Glenkirk Enterprises.
