To allow all Maine Township residents an opportunity to participate in this event, shredding will be limited to three small plastic grocery bags of documents per person. Staples are acceptable, but all paper clips, binder clips, and rubber bands must be removed. Spiral notebooks and plastic notebooks will not be accepted for shredding.
Proper shredding is a way to fight fraud and combat identity theft which continues to rise. As an added security measure, residents will be able to view shredding as it is done on their materials via a video monitor that is located on the outside of the truck.
