Maine Township Senior Expo Adds Antique Show Feature for 2017
Bring a valued item and have it assessed for free by antique and collectible experts.

Do you have a vintage Italian ceramic soup tureen handed down from
your favorite aunt that no one in the family appreciates except you? Or
perhaps it's a Tiffany teapot lamp? Maybe it's a jade figurine that's
been in the family since grandpa came home from the war. If you've ever
looked at treasured items such at these around your house and wondered
if they were worth more than just their sentimental value, now is your
chance to find out.
Paxem, Inc. will bring On the Road: How Valuable Are Your Valuables
Show to Maine Township's Swing into Spring senior expo on Friday, April
28, at Golf Mill Shopping Center in Niles. If you would like to find out
what your treasures are worth, you may bring one item for valuation
between 10:15 and noon. Please call 847-297-2510, ext. 252, to reserve
your spot. Reservations will be taken on a first come, first serve
basis. According to Jennifer Prell, who operates Paxem, neither Maine
Township MaineStreamers nor Paxem, Inc. are liable for any damages,
theft, loss or disappointment. "All items are priced “fair market
value” for resale purposes only and not as official appraisals," she
added.

The 11th annual senior expo which will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. is
expected to be another for the record books An estimated 1,900 people
visited the event in 2016 during its five-hour run. Designed to link
seniors who need services with vendors who provide them, the Swing into
Spring senior expo has grown in attendance for four straight years and
is expected to continue the trend in 2017.
Kicking off the fun, the popular Early Bird Bingo from 9 to 10 a.m.
will be hosted and sponsored by Maine Township Supervisor Carol A.
Teschky. There is no charge to participate in the bingo or to attend the
Expo. The wide variety of exhibitors including state and regional
agencies provide product demonstrations, raffles, giveaways, and
contests as part of the regular activities. Mark Schultz will do free
caricatures from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. John Trucali performs from 1
to 2 p.m.

Known as The Man of Many Voices, Trucali has been named by reviewers
as "The Italian Tom Jones." Other vocal impressions mixed with comedy in
Trucali's shows include Elvis; Neil Diamond; The Rat Pack—Frank
Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr.; Ray Charles, Andrea Bocelli;
Nat King Cole; Stevie Wonder; Barry White; Frankie Valli and Joe Cocker.
His impressions include Marlon Brando as The Godfather, Jackie Mason,
Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bill Clinton, Rodney Dangerfield, and Sylvester
Stallone.
"We are again very pleased that our MaineStreamers senior expo
continues to be so popular and grow steadily," said Teschky. "About 10
years ago, we would see maybe 1000 visitors, and then more recently the
crowd is rapidly approaching the 2,000 mark."
"Central to this event are all the vendors from local, regional and
state agencies along with a range of commercial companies," she added.
We expect to expand the variety of vendors in 2017 to help better serve
the interests of our residents who attend."
This signature event is sponsored by Maine Township, The Journal
& Topics Newspapers, Chicagoland Senior News, Paxem, and Suburban
