As Chair of the Taste of Park Ridge, Mel Thillens led the Opening Night ceremony along with the Who's Who from the community.
Mayor David Schmidt helped cut the ribbon. Others on the stage Thursday night included John Bredemann of the Bredemann Auto Group, Cook Co. Commissioner Peter Silvestri, State Rep. Michael McAuliffe, Journal Publisher Todd Wessell, Paula Besler of Advocate Lutheran Hospital, and Robin Iglow formerly of Pines Mens Wear.
Thousands of food and music lovers filled the midway all day and into the evening.
Maine Township will host free senior bingo Friday at 1 p.m. on Courtland.
Free bus tours of historic sites will run Saturday at 11, 1 and 3 from Hodges Park. The Family Fun Zone and business expo will also be in Hodges Park 10 a.m. -4 p.m.
