The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has adopted an intelligence-driven, Risk-Based Security approach. This end-to-end security approach incorporates several TSA programs to ensure that screening protocols applied in the airport align to passenger risk. This paradigm shift is rooted in the assertion that the vast majority of passengers are low risk to the system and should be screened accordingly. Risk-Based Security enables TSA to sharply focus finite screening resources on passengers assessed as high-risk individuals. Mr. Miller will discuss existing Risk Based Security programs at O’Hare as well as emerging initiative that increase security while decreasing passenger inconvenience and costs to tax payers.
