Oakton Men's Tennis Hosts Successful Community Tournament
Oakton Community College Men's Tennis Team hosts winter community tournament.

Oakton Community College Men's Tennis Team recently held its first Oakton Owls Tennis Fundraiser Tournament. The event was on Saturday, December 3rd at Forest View Racquet & Fitness Club and extended to Sunday to play the finals matches and moved to River Trails Tennis Club in Arlington Heights. This weekend, club spectators and tennis friends had a chance to see quality competitive matches from 3.0, 4.0, and Open singles divisions.
"We had great interest in our charity tournament, 29 players competing, which expanded our draws from the start and with a few close pro-set tiebreaks in the quarterfinals, it forced us to postpone the last matches until Sunday," said Oakton Head Tennis Coach and Tournament Director Kelly Johnson.
As Trevor Weisbart (Chicago, IL), a tournament player noted, "having the one pro-set match format instead of your regular two of three sets, players tend to give it their all and 'play their heart out.' I enjoyed competing and I believe many others did as well!"
