Members of the Park Ridge Chamber donated time and funds recently to feed almost 80 hungry guests at the Sunday Supper now held at St. Luke's Lutheran Church on North Prospect Avenue.
All on the Road Catering provides a discounted price to organizations who retain them to cater the Sunday Supper meals. Kevin and Ann Witek provided 6 gallons of milk and juice and the Bartons brought 2 more. Other Chamber members sent in checks to cover the costs of the catered meal.
Lian Haller, 14, a freshman at Maine South High School provided live music with her violin and played Christmas carols to the delight of the guests.
The volunteers who served are (left to right in the photo) Gail Haller, executive director of the Park Ridge Chamber of Commerce; Mike McGrath, Kiwanis and City employee; Dick Barton, Barton Marketing Group and 2013 Park Ridge Community Star with his lovely wife, Kathleen; Reverand John Schumacher, Rainbow Hospice and Palliative Care (he, of course, gave the invocation); Wes Davis, Davis & Associates, who always volunteers to wash the pots and pans; Martha Berns, Dempsey Design; Lian Haller, violinist who played Christmas carols for the guests; Laura Israel, Park Ridge Newcomers Club member; Candy Reed-Ryan, Chicago Tribune Products; Janet and Jeff and Anthony Tripp from Kiwanis.
