Park Ridge Community Star: Dennis P. Van Mieghem

Each year the Park Ridge Chamber of Commerce recognizes outstanding members of the Park Ridge community.

The Park Ridge Chamber of Commerce recently announced that Dennis P. Van Mieghem was selected as a 2012 Park Ridge Community Star.

Van Mieghem used the professional skills he honed over his forty year career with KPMG, LLP, to make life better in Park Ridge, a press release states.

Most recently the man who retired in 1998 as the partner in charge of the National Insurance Tax Practice of the international accounting firm, has poured not only his expertise—but his heart—into securing a real estate tax exemption for Iannelli Studios Heritage Center.

In addition to his work as treasurer of Kalo since the foundation’s inception in 2006, Van Miegham has also served as president and treasurer of the Park Ridge Fine Arts Society, and serves on the board of directors for Northwestern Settlement, a Chicago philanthropic organization that has an auxiliary board in Park Ridge. Van Mieghem and his wife, Jackie, served as president of the Washington School PTO in Park Ridge when their children attended there in the 1970’s.  Van Mieghem was also a Park Ridge Jaycees during those years.
