Park Ridge: How to Clean Up After a Flood
The city has issued instructions on how residents should approach cleaning up after a flood.
Park Ridge was one of the harder hit communities in terms of flooding in the Chicago area. Torrential rains this week swelled creeks and rivers – the Des Plaines River reached a record high.
Park Ridge has issued advice for cleaning up after a flood for residents. The city's statement:
The cleanup after a flood can be very hazardous. For that reason, the City has posted a recommended procedure for flood cleanup, provided by OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) so that you and your family can continue to remain safe and healthy. Information regarding Flood Cleanup can be found on our website at www.parkridge.us . It is listed under "Online Services / Documents, Forms and Permits." Search for "Flood CleanUp." or HERE.

The City has also made arrangements with ARC disposal for flood debris to be picked up for the next two weeks, starting April 22 and ending May 3. Debris from the flood should be placed at your normal location (curbside or alley) and will be picked up on your regularly scheduled trash collection day.
