Park Ridge Lottery Winner to Share $100,000 With His 8 Children
The local man used his children's birthdays to help pick the numbers for his winning ticket.

PARK RIDGE, IL - A Park Ridge man is $100,000 richer following a recent lottery win but he says the money may go fast.
“This fabulous prize is already gone – I have eight children to share it with,” Michael Mulvany said when he presented his winning Powerball ticket at the Illinois Lottery Prize Center in Des Plaines.
The Park Ridge man won $100,000 when he matched four numbers, plus the Powerball number, in the historic $1.5 billion Powerball drawing in January. He said he used his children's birthdays as his numbers when he bought the winning ticket, according to an Illinois Lottery press release.

The winning numbers in the Wednesday, January 13 drawing were 04 - 08 - 19 - 27 - 34 – (10) and the PowerPlay number was 02. Because he chose to add the PowerPlay option to his ticket, Mulvany’s $50,000 Powerball prize was multiplied by two.
Mulvany said he plays Powerball a few times a month.

“Sometimes I play the kids’ birthdays, sometimes I get a Quick Pick ticket,” he said.
He bought his winning ticket at 7-Eleven, 555 West Devon Avenue in Park Ridge. The retailer received a bonus of $1,000, one percent of the prize amount, for selling a winning ticket, according to the news release.
