Park Ridge Police Blotter: Man Charged with Stealing Prescription Pad

Man Charged with Stealing Prescription Pad
Manish Patel, 20, of Des Plaines, was charged with theft Aug. 7. Police said Patel was in the emergency room of Advocate Lutheran General Hospital when he took a prescription pad.
Patel was previously arrested by police in Niles and charged with felony forgery when he attempted to pick up a prescription at a pharmacy in the 9600 block of Milwaukee Avenue. The pharmacist said he knew Patel as a regular customer, and became suspicious when Patel came in with a prescription for a controlled substance in someone else's name, according to the report.
Suspicious Incident
A male in his 20s went to the side door of a home in the 200 block of Berry Parkway on Aug. 6. The man was confronted by a resident and said "It's me James." The resident told the man that she didn't know him. The man left in a 1990s red pickup truck.
