Park Ridge Police Blotter: Man Watching Children Near School

The following information was provided by the Park Ridge Police Department. When an arrest is referenced it should not be considered a conviction.

Man Watching Children

A suspicious incident was reported to Park Ridge Police on Sept. 3 in the 100 block of S. Northwest Highway near a school. Police said a man in his 30s or 40s would bend down as if to tie his shoes, but then look up and watch the children walk by.

The man was described as being about six feet tall, white, 210 pounds, with brown hair and wearing a black hat, grey hoodie sweatshirt, black T-shirt, blue jeans and brown sandals.

Loud Banging

A resident in the 700 block of S. Greenwood heard banging on a door Sept. 1 at about 3 a.m. The resident discovered that the wooden door was damaged.

Vandalism

An aluminum lamp and lamp pole was damaged in the 1600 block of S. Clifton on either Aug. 31 or Sept. 1.

Car Burglaries

Someone entered an unlocked 2011 Subaru Forester on Aug. 29 or Aug. 30 in the 1600 block of Newton Street and took money and a garage door remote.

A 2001 Lincoln Town Car was burglarized on Aug. 30 in the 1600 block of S. Canfield. The vehicle was unlocked and credit cards and jewelry were taken.

An unlocked 2006 Acura MDX was burglarized on either Sept. 2 or Sept. 3. The offender took shoes and some money from the vehicle.

Three vehicles that were parked in a driveway of a home in the 100 block of E. Cuttriss were entered on either Sept. 2 or Sept. 3. The vehicles were unlocked. A digital camera was taken from one of the vehicles and nothing appeared to be missing from the other two.
