Police Investigating Driver for Drug Use in 3-Car Park Ridge Crash
A 10-year-old boy was seriously injured in the accident Sunday at Dempster Street and Robin Drive.

PARK RIDGE, IL—Police are investigating an Arlington Heights driver to see if drugs were connected to a three-car accident Sunday in Park Ridge that she was involved in, the Park Ridge Herald-Advocate reports.
The crash injured four people, including a 10-year-old boy, sending them to the hospital, the report stated.
Park Ridge police say they found evidence of drugs at the scene of the accident, which happened at about 12:5 p.m. Sunday, June 5, at Dempster Street and Robin Drive, the Herald-Advocate reports. Around that time, the Arlington Heights woman was driving her 2010 Nissan east on Dempster when she is reported to have rear-ended a Florida family riding in a 2008 Chevrolet, the Herald-Advocate added.

After being hit, the Chevrolet crashed into a Rolling Meadows man driving a 2005 Mercury and traveling in the westbound lane, according to the report.

At the hospital, the Arlington Heights driver was drug tested, the Herald-Advocate reports. Police are waiting for those results, and no charges have been filed in accident, the report added.
The 10-year-old boy who was riding in the back seat of the Chevrolet was in critical condition Sunday, but police told the Herald-Advocate his health had improved Monday.
