Preparing For The Presidential Primary Election In Park Ridge

Have your recently moved into Park Ridge or will you be turning 18 years old before the November 2020 General election? If you answered yes to either of these questions, have you registered to vote?

To register to vote, you must be a U.S. citizen; be at least 18 years old by the general election; and be a resident of your precinct at least 30 days prior to Election Day. When registering to vote, you also must display two pieces of identification, neither of which needs to be a photo ID, but one must include your current address.

In Illinois, you do not declare affiliation with a political party when you register to vote. In primary elections, you must choose to vote a specific political party ballot.

Important dates relating to the Presidential Primary Election

February 18 - Voter registration closes for deputy registrars and local election officials

February 19 - First day of grace period registration and voting

March 1 - Last day to register to vote by online application

March 2 - First day of early voting (100 S. Western Avenue)

March 12 - Last day to request a mail ballot, including military and overseas voters

March 16 - Last day of early voting / Last day of grace period registration and voting

March 17 - Election Day / Last day mail ballots can be postmarked
