How to Avoid Common Platform Tennis Injuries

According to recent research by Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush, the Official Orthopedic Provider of Chicago Platform Tennis, the majority of platform (paddle) tennis players (66%) have sustained an injury due to the sport. Of those injured, more than half (55%) have sustained more than one injury.

To minimize the risk of injury, Chicago area platform tennis players are invited to a free informational seminar about staying strong and avoiding injuries, sponsored by Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush. Sports medicine physician Dr. Leda Ghannad, physical therapist Tracy Jones, and Park Ridge County Club platform tennis pro Matt Davis will offer strategies to improve your game and stay injury-free. The event will include stretching and strengthening demonstrations and other techniques to keep you playing all season.

The injury prevention event will be held at Park Ridge Country Club, 636 N Prospect Ave, Park Ridge, IL 60068, Saturday, October 21, 11 a.m. To RSVP, contact Ann Pitcher at ann@pscommunicationsinc.com or 630-234-4150. Lunch is provided.
