Summit Broadway Baby program looks at how music has changed
The nostalgic program about the evolution of Broadway from the 1880s to the 1990s is set for Monday, Sept. 24, at 6 p.m.

Broadway Baby, a nostalgic and educational program about the evolution of Broadway from the 1880s to the 1990s will be presented at Summit of Uptown, a senior living community in Park Ridge, 10 N. Summit Ave, Monday, Sept. 24, at 6 p.m. Open to the community, there is no charge for the program. Refreshments will be served. For reservations which are required by Thursday, Sept. 20, call 847-825-1161.
One of 10 one-woman shows performed by Karen Berk Barak, who sings and plays the music of those eras, this uplifting, heart-warming and intimate show explores how music developed and changed through the times artistically, politically, socially, morally and stylistically. A classically trained pianist, who began studying and performing at the age of 7, performs concerts nationally and internationally as an entertainer, singer, songwriter, and pianist.
