Summit helps Kiwanis Club serve up dinner at annual fundraiser

Summit of Uptown behind-the scenes helps Park Ridge Kiwanis Club "Noon" with spaghetti dinner fundraiser that supports local organizations

When Park Ridge “Noon” Kiwanis Club members donned their chef hats to cook the sauce for their annual homemade spaghetti dinner, they had help with their culinary endeavors from Summit of Uptown. That's because the ground beef that went into the "secret recipe sauce" was browned in the kitchen at Summit where the spaghetti noodles were also prepared.

Summit has been providing behind-the-scenes help on the project for the last 10 years, according to Dick Larsen, chair of the annual fundraising event which has become a fixture on the early February calendar in Park Ridge. "We wouldn't be able to make this dinner the success that it always is without Summit's help," he said. Proceeds of the event benefit the community organizations and projects supported by Park Ridge “Noon” Kiwanis. Among many others they include Christmas baskets for those in need which Summit also played a vital role in this past holiday season, July 4th Kiddie Day Parade, education scholarships, Maine Township High School District 207 Health Center based at Maine East, Park Ridge Library children’s programming and spastic paralysis research.

"All of us at Summit value being part of Park Ridge which is such a vibrant and caring community. Giving back is not only a duty, but an honor. We love being involved and look forward to partnering with Kiwanis on future dinners as well as other projects," said Wilson Anhar, Executive Director at Summit of Uptown.
