Summit to launch new Memory Care Neighborhood in January

A Jan. 26 ribbon cutting from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. will celebrate the opening of a new Memory Care Neighborhood at Summit of Uptown.

A premier retirement destination, Summit of Uptown, a senior living community in Park Ridge—which is already well-known throughout the area for offering the best of Independent Living and personalized Assisted Living—will launch the new Memory Care Neighborhood next month that will specialize in caring for those with Alzheimer's and other memory impairments. "After 33 years of providing services to our senior population, Summit is adding the Memory Care neighborhood to widen its scope and provide a continuum of care and meet the needs of our seniors on all levels of care," said Wilson Anhar, Executive Director of Summit of Uptown https://www.arborcompany.com/locations/illinois/park-ridge-summit-of-uptown.

Mark your calendars for a ribbon cutting to celebrate the grand opening of the brand new Memory Care Neighborhood which has been scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 26, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Summit of Uptown, 10 N. Summit, Park Ridge. "Because Summit has built such a longstanding legacy in the town it has called home for more than 30 years, it is only fitting that the Park Ridge Chamber of Commerce would help us commemorate this momentous event," said Anhar.

According to experts, more than five million people have Alzheimer’s or other memory impairments. But it isn’t just these people who are affected. They are cared for by 16 million people who are also adversely impacted by the devastating consequences of these disorders. "We know that experts agree that cognitive impairment can significantly impact not only seniors, but also the family members who are called upon to care for them," said Anhar. "It is to help ease those burdens and provide peace of mind for loved ones that we are opening this new Memory Care Neighborhood."
