Summit's executive director earns professional distinction

Wilson Anhar, Executive Director at the Summit of Uptown, is among the first nationwide to become a Certified Director of Assisted Living.

Wilson Anhar, Executive Director at the Summit of Uptown, is among the first nationwide to earn the distinction and honor of being identified at a Certified Director of Assisted Living (CDAL) by the Senior Living Certification Commission (SLCC) of Argentum. This certification establishes professionalism and sets the standard for quality in the senior living industry. According to Tim Buchanan, who chairs the SLCC Board of Commissioners, Anhar was among the first 300 assisted living executive directors across the country who qualified.

Founded in 1990, Argentum is the leading national trade association serving companies that own, operate, and support professionally managed senior living communities in the United States. Through a network of state partners, Argentum represents more than 7,000 communities that provide independent living, assisted living, and memory care services for seniors.

Anhar, who took the reins at Summit, a senior living community in Park Ridge, in July, brought 12 years in senior care management and 19 years in hospitality management to his new role. Most recently he was executive director at Sunrise Senior Living in Highland Park.
