Thillens Packs in a Full Weekend

The holiday weekend and especially Monday's parade day were busy for Mel Thillens.

Here, the Chair of the Taste of Park Ridge, greets Park Ridge Indian Scout Chief Mike Mizwicki during the May 26 Memorial Day parade in Park Ridge.

He also arranged for one of his company's armored trucks to carry the Taste banner to remind people of the 2014 dates of the much-beloved food fest.

As a candidate for Illinois State Representative (55th District), Thillens also marched with the Republicans of Maine Township group headed by Committeeman Charlene Foss-Eggemann.

He also hosted a Parade Viewing Party at his home for friends, family and supporters. His home is along the parade route so a great view was included with good food.

During the weekend, he managed other campaign activities in his "spare time". He and his team were making final plans for a ribbon cutting and reception at his new Des Plaines campaign office for June 3 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The office is at 680 Lee Street.
