What Choices Will You Make?
This Wednesday night, July 9, 2014, from 6:30-9:00 pm parents and their 5th-9th grade children will have a chance to explore that question together at a presentation at Mary Seat of Wisdom Barry Gym, Park Ridge. Speakers for the parent agenda include: the renowned expert, Carrie Goldman who will speak on bullying, Park Ridge Police Officer Mike Luehr who will speak on the consequences of bad choices, a Presence Health ER nurse, Mike Deverman, Maine South Class of 2014 who will give a reality check to parents and Dr.Teri Collins, Executive Director of MCYAF, who will speak on why drug and alcohol abuse prevention for teens is so important .The 5th-9th graders who attend will have a chance to speak with older teens, juniors and seniors, who have chosen to make healthy choices for themselves.
There will be videos,a teen panel and a Q&A session.
Check-In with Pizza and Music starts at 6:30 . Talks start at 7:00 pm. Barry Gym and parking is accessible off of Clifton Avenue, one block west of Cumberland. The event is free and open to the public.
Parents - this is a great time to share an experience with your child. Show them that you care about the choices they make. It's important to all of us.
