OSF HealthCare introduces new swallowing therapy for stroke patients in Peoria (peoriastandard.com) — A new swallowing therapy for stroke patients is now available at OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, offering hope to those struggling with severe dysphagia. The Phagenyx System combines temporary nutrition with gentle electrical stimulation to help retrain swallowing muscles and potentially reduce long-term feeding tube use. OSF's Comprehensive Stroke Center says the technology adds to its growing toolkit for local stroke recovery.
