• Despite CFO resignation PPS budget is still on schedule (centralillinoisproud.com) — Peoria Public Schools' budget remains on track despite the recent resignation of its chief financial officer, with a tentative plan going online for public review and final approval targeted for late September. The board also approved hiring outside accountants and a comptroller, potentially costing about $95,000, to finally complete two years of overdue financial audits.
   

• NTSB releases information on Peoria area lawyers deadly missouri plane crash (centralillinoisproud.com) — Federal investigators have released preliminary findings on a fatal plane crash involving a Peoria-area lawyer whose flight departed General Wayne A. Downing Peoria International Airport for South Dakota. The NTSB says the aircraft climbed into controlled airspace without clearance, entered storm activity, and crashed in northwest Missouri, with no mechanical failures found and no onboard oxygen system installed.
   

• Gordon-Booth Congratulates Peoria-Based Healthcare Centers on Nearly $6 Million in Grant Funding (ilhousedems.com) — Two Peoria-based health centers are receiving nearly $6 million in state Rebuild Illinois grants, boosting local clinic construction and technology. State Rep. Jehan Gordon-Booth says the funding will strengthen Peoria's role as a regional healthcare hub and improve access to affordable care for residents across Peoria County.
