Peoria hands over right-of-way in the North Valley to O'Brien Steel (wmbdradio.com) — Peoria's City Council has formally approved vacating a section of Bond Street in the North Valley, handing the right-of-way to O'Brien Steel as part of a long-standing redevelopment agreement. One resident described an employment scam tied to fake YouTube earnings that led to unauthorized charges. The BBB urges locals to use its Scam Tracker tool to research and report suspicious offers.
3. Peoria police looking for suspects involved in Peoria Stadium fight (centralillinoisproud.com) — Peoria police are investigating a large fight that forced the evacuation of Peoria Stadium during a high school football game and are pursuing 12 persons of interest, mostly juveniles. Chief Echevarria says officers will review safety procedures with Peoria Public Schools and warns that anyone causing trouble at future games will face arrest. The list details salaries for police leadership, the fire chief, water superintendent, and code enforcement, offering a snapshot of how local tax dollars support key services. 5. Where could drivers find the cheapest gas in cities within Peoria County in week ending Aug. 15? (peoriastandard.com) — Drivers in Peoria County paid an average of $5.36 per gallon for premium gas in the week ending Aug. 15, with the cheapest stations reporting $4.79.
