Government earmarks $2 million for OSF's new Dental Surgery Center in Peoria (wmbdradio.com) — Peoria patients who need complex dental procedures will soon have a much shorter wait, thanks to $2 million in federal funding for OSF HealthCare's new Dental Surgery Center in the city. The $5 million facility, expected to open in about 18 months on the OSF campus, will expand pediatric and adult services and increase the number of people treated free of charge locally.
3. Two Peoria men indicted in double homicide involving South Peoria nightclub shooting (centralillinoisproud.com) — Two Peoria men have been indicted on first-degree murder charges in connection with an August shooting outside the Vibez nightclub and the related death of a pedestrian struck by a fleeing car. Prosecutors say the late-night South Peoria incident involved both gunfire and a high-speed crash, and the defendants could face life in prison if convicted.
