More than a quarter of a mile of new sidewalk is coming to Peoria’s north side. A sidewalk installation project will begin along Allen and Orange Prairie Roads next week, weather permitting.
A contractor will be starting at the intersection of Allen and Wilhelm Roads Monday, July 26 at 7 a.m. Once complete, workers will move onto Orange Prairie Road – working from Landens Way to US-150.
The Community Investment Plan (CIP) project is being partially funded with a Transportation Alternative Program (TAP) grant. In total, just over a quarter of a mile (1,438 feet) of sidewalk will be installed.
Each sidewalk project could take one to two weeks to complete. Drivers could experience daytime lane closures and should allow for extra travel time through the area, as needed.
