Community Development To Host Weekly Neighborhood Cleanups
Many annual clean up events have been postponed until later in the year due to COVID-19, including the 2020 Dumpster Program.

The city of Peoria Community Development Department will host weekly clean up events in neighborhoods throughout our community and continuing throughout the summer. Many annual clean up events have been postponed until later in the year due to COVID-19, including the 2020 Dumpster Program and the 2020 Great American Cleanup.

The first community cleanup event will take place along Western Avenue at 12:00 PM on Friday, June 5th. Participants are asked to meet at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Western Avenue. Future cleanup dates and times will be announced two days prior to the event at AppreciatePeoria.com, PeoriaGov.org, and social media.
Community Development Department staff will have trash bags available for any residents, community members, or groups who would like to help. Participants are asked to bring their own face covering and are expected to maintain social distancing measures during the cleanup to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
