Part Of Lake Avenue Will Briefly Close April 8

A portion of Lake Avenue between the intersections of Sheridan Road and Knoxville Avenue will be temporarily closed for one 15-minute period on Wednesday, April 8, 2020. The closure will take place between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., and the road will reopen immediately following the temporary closure. Traffic will be redirected to Glen Avenue for the 15-minute closure period.

This temporary closure is necessary for Ameren Illinois crews to deliver and offload a new utility pole for installation. This closure was originally scheduled for Tuesday, April 7, but has been deferred for one day due to mechanical issues with the delivery vehicle.

The Highway Department asks motorists to avoid the area.
