The City’s trash hauler, Peoria Disposal Company, (PDC®), will resume bulky waste collection after pausing for a few weeks as a precautionary measure aimed at protecting the company’s workforce. The pickup changes will take effect in the coming days and weeks.

Residents who have been holding onto bulky waste such as mattresses, old furniture, construction debris, etc. can now set it out neatly alongside their trash carts on their regularly scheduled collection days in the following ways:

• As early as 3 p.m. the day before collection or by 6 a.m. on collection day.
• Smaller bulky waste items should be discarded inside a closed trash cart.
• Bulky waste that is not small enough to fit inside a closed trash cart should be placed inside a trash bag and tied shut. Bagged items should be placed at least three feet away from trash carts and any other objects such as cars and mailboxes, etc.
• Any bulky waste that does not fit inside a trash cart or sealed trash bag should be neatly stacked.

The city of Peoria and Public Works Department appreciate residents’ consideration of the above reminders. More information about recycling, yard waste and trash collection can be found at peoriapicksup.com.
