Good afternoon! The Peoria Snow Fighters are currently treating the primary arterial streets with Sodium Chloride (rock salt) and liquid brine. The crews are on our around the clock operations for today and through the overnight hours tonight. The Peoria area is forecasted to receive accumulations of snow through tomorrow morning. With the ground temperatures as they have been, some of the initial snow fall today has melted upon reaching the ground. As the temperatures drop throughout the evening we should see some additional accumulation. However, we will remain on the streets until they are in condition for safe travel. As a reminder, we will continue to monitor the pavement conditions for any refreeze throughout the overnight hours. Please watch for salt/plow trucks as you travel giving them and yourselves space, leave early to reach your destination and drive slow!
