SBCA Foundation Makes Grant to Naplate Fire Department

Naplate Fire Department is honored with grant for $10,000 by the Satellite Broadcasting and Communications Association

Naplate, Illinois, June 12, 2017 – The SBCA Foundation, the charitable arm of the Satellite Broadcasting and Communications Association, presented a donation for $10,000 to the Naplate Fire Department to be used towards replacement of technology infrastructure and other critical needs. The Naplate Fire Department was ravaged in early 2017 by tornadoes and the organization lost a significant amount of infrastructure.

“We’re grateful for our partnership with SBCA in supporting our efforts in Naplate," said Deputy Chief Bob Rick. “This partnership provides the essential equipment and other items our organization needs after the tornadoes in the Naplate area.” SBCA also recently made a grant to the Pittman Center Fire Department in Tennessee, Heritage Ranch in Louisiana, the Deweyville Independent School District in Texas and worked alongside the Information Technology Disaster Resource Center in West Virginia after that state saw historic flooding.

In attendance at the event were State Senator Sue Rezin and State Representative Jerry Long, whose districts include Naplate, where the fire department is located.

Representative Jerry Long added, “This was a great event where the private sector was able to partner with the fire department to better the community.”

The Satellite Broadcasting and Communications Association is the only trade association that represents the consumer satellite industry and is based in Washington, D.C. The SBCA Foundation was established in order to support the efforts of individuals and companies in the consumer-based satellite video and broadband industry who are making a contribution to improve the lives of the people in their communities.
