Snow Storm Update In City of Peoria For February 26

Good Morning! Currently the street conditions in the City of Peoria have some snow cover causing travel this morning to be slippery in some areas. With the plowing and salt treatment that is being applied currently as well as what has been applied to the pavement by the snow fighters throughout the overnight hours, pavement is starting to show more as traffic and ground temperatures rise. We will continue to plow and treat throughout the day today until we have all streets treated in one form or another. Studies have shown that most vehicle accidents occur when there is about 2” of snow on the pavement. We are currently in that range for accumulation this morning. We encourage motorists to allow for more time traveling to their destinations this morning. Leave earlier and drive slower. Thanks!
